SDR Cube Kitting Operations A peek into the kitting operations at Midnight Design!

Kits Started Shipping Today!  (Dec 23rd)

 

Here's a glimpse of how the SDR Cube Kits are being packaged for shipping.  These two below are the first Kits to be shipped.  It will take numerous days to finalize each package, and for schlepping them over to the PO each day ... but it won't be too long before you see your little white box sitting on your doorstep!

 

    

 

Reminder that only kits are being shipped right now.  And if you ordered both "kit" items and "assembled & tested" items, your kit items will be held until the assembled & tested items are ready ~mid January.  (Unless you ordered the "Extra Shipping" item on our Order page to get your kit items right away.)

 

Also recall that the Accessory Enclosure option will come separately in its own box, as it doesn't fit into the main Kit packaging.

 

The Kitting Operation

If any of you have ever put together a "kitting operation" for a few of your local club members, you'll be able to identify with some of the photos here taken in the middle of our gearing up for SDR Cube Transceiver kit production!  Boxes of parts everywhere, lists of the lists of the lists for keeping track of what's here and what's now, as well as for who gets what ... See if you can find what you might have ordered amongst all the parts, bags and boxes shown in these photos below. 

 

Also check out the nifty packaging coming along for the surface mount parts in the SDR Cube kits ... Nancy Feeny, NJ8B has been helping us out for years in the kitting ops for projects coming from the NJQRP, the AmQRP and now for Midnight Design, and she's the inventor of this ideal packaging method for kitting chip components.  See the sample shown below for the "I/O SMT Card" ... if you've ever ordered a DDS-60 Kit, a Micro908 Kit, or a NUE-PSK Digital Modem Kit from us, you'll recognize her expert handiwork provided over the years.  She's amazing!
